To create a group, select one or more objects and press <keycombo><keycap function="control">Ctrl</keycap><keycap>G</keycap></keycombo>. To ungroup one or more groups, select them and press <keycombo><keycap function="control">Ctrl</keycap><keycap>U</keycap></keycombo>. These actions are also accessible by <mousebutton role="right-click">right click</mousebutton>, the <guimenu>Object</guimenu> menu, or the Commands bar. Groups themselves may be grouped, just like any other objects; such nested groups may go down to arbitrary depth. However, <keycombo><keycap function="control">Ctrl</keycap><keycap>U</keycap></keycombo> only ungroups the topmost level of grouping in a selection; you'll need to press <keycombo><keycap function="control">Ctrl</keycap><keycap>U</keycap></keycombo> repeatedly if you want to completely ungroup a deep group-in-group (or use <menuchoice><guimenu>Extensions</guimenu><guisubmenu>Arrange</guisubmenu><guimenuitem>Deep Ungroup</guimenuitem></menuchoice>).
