As you see, the selected rectangle (the just-drawn rectangle is always selected) shows three adjustable handles in three of its corners and one cross-shaped handle, for moving the rectangle, in the middle. In fact, there are four corner handles, but two of them (in the top right corner) overlap if the rectangle is not rounded. These two are the <firstterm>rounding handles</firstterm>; the other two (top left and bottom right) are <firstterm>resize handles</firstterm>.

Clipboard is system-wide - you can copy/paste objects between different Inkscape instances as well as between Inkscape and other applications (which must be able to handle SVG on the clipboard to use this).
