A new shape is created by <mousebutton role="mouse-drag">drag</mousebutton>ging on canvas with the corresponding tool. Once the shape is created (and so long as it is selected), it displays its handles as white diamond, square or round marks (depending on the tools), so you can immediately edit what you created by dragging these handles.
Una nuova forma si crea selezionandone lo strumento e <keycap>trascinando</keycap> sull'area di lavoro conil cursore mantenendo il tasto desinistro del mouse premuto con lo strumento desiderato. For example, with a star you can alter the number of tips, their length, angle, rounding, etc. — but a star remains a star. A shape is “less free” than a simple path, but it's often more interesting and useful. You can always convert a shape to a path (<keycombo><keycap function="control">Ctrl</keycap><keycap function="shift">Shift</keycap><keycap>C</keycap></keycombo>), but the reverse conversion is not possible.
Per esempio, con una stella puoi modificare il numero delle punte, la loro lunghezza, l’angolo, l’arrotondamento eccetera — ma una stella resta sempre una stella. Una forma è “meno libera” di un semplice tracciato, ma spesso è più interessante e utile. Puoi sempre convertire una forma in un tracciato (<keycombo><keycap function="control">Ctrl</keycap><keycap function="shift">Shift</keycap><keycap>C</keycap></keycombo>), ma la conversione inversa non è possibile.
